Privacy Policy
Last updated 03 Aug 2026
This policy explains what personal information Bouchée collects when you visit our website, order from us, apply for a job or send us feedback — how we use it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
1. Who we are
Bouchée is a bakery and patisserie business operating in Egypt. The registered entity behind the Bouchée name is Al Darwish for Foods, Beverages and Restaurant & Cafe Management, and it is the controller responsible for the personal data described here.
If you have any question about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights in section 9, write to info@bouchee.co.
2. Information we collect
We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive personal data — such as health, religious or political information — and we ask that you do not include it in a feedback or job application form.
- Information you give us — When you submit our feedback form we collect your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us. When you apply through our careers page we collect your name, contact details, the information in your application and any CV or attachment you send.
- Order and purchase information — If you order from us — in one of our stores or through an online ordering service — we hold a record of the purchase: what was bought, the amount, the branch and the time. Where you give us contact details at the point of sale or join a loyalty programme, those details are linked to that record.
- Usage information — We collect information about how our website is used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, referring links, and how you move through and interact with a page. Section 4 explains the tools involved.
3. How we use your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone who wants to market their own products to you.
- To respond to your feedback, questions and requests.
- To assess and process job applications, and to contact you about them.
- To fulfil and support your orders, and to keep the accounting and tax records the law requires us to keep.
- To understand how our website is used so we can improve it.
- To measure how well our advertising works, as described in section 5.
- To protect the website against fraud and abuse, and to comply with our legal obligations.
5. Advertising and measurement
We advertise on social and search platforms, including TikTok, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. To understand whether that advertising actually works, we share a limited amount of information with those platforms:
- Website activity — A measurement tag on our site tells the platform that a visit or an action (such as starting an order) happened after one of our ads was shown.
- Purchase events — We may send a record that a purchase took place — its value, currency, time and branch — so the platform can connect it to an ad. Where a contact detail such as an email address or phone number is included so the platform can match the purchase to the right person, it is irreversibly scrambled (hashed) before it leaves our systems. We do not send the platform your raw email address or phone number.
- Audiences — We may ask a platform to show our ads to people who have bought from us before, or to people similar to them. Contact details used for this are hashed in the same way before transmission.
This information is used to measure and target our own advertising, and for nothing else. It is not sold. You can ask us to stop including your data in this at any time, and to remove data already sent — see section 9.
You can also limit ad personalisation in the privacy settings of each platform's own app or account.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers — The companies that host and run our website and systems, acting on our instructions.
- Advertising platforms — To the limited extent described in section 5.
- Professional advisers and authorities — Where we are required to by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
7. Where information is held
Our website and business systems are hosted with infrastructure providers whose servers may be located outside Egypt, including in the European Union. Where information leaves Egypt, we rely on providers that offer a comparable standard of protection and process the data only on our instructions.
8. How long we keep it
Feedback is kept for as long as we need it to respond and to understand recurring issues. Job applications are kept for up to twelve months so we can consider you for future openings, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Purchase and accounting records are kept for the period Egyptian tax and commercial law requires. Website usage data is kept for the retention period of the analytics tool concerned.
9. Your rights
Subject to Egyptian data-protection law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information, including data we have sent to an advertising platform;
- stop using your information for advertising measurement or audiences;
- withdraw consent you have given us, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
Write to info@bouchee.co from the address you gave us, and we will respond within thirty days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
10. Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top always shows the current version, and where a change materially affects how we use your information we will make that clear on this page.
12. Contact
For any privacy question or request, contact info@bouchee.co.
